Thunder have announced the five bands who are opening for them at each respective date on their upcoming November 2020 arena tour.
Following the release of their career-spanning compilation album ‘Thunder: The Greatest Hits’ to celebrate their 30th anniversary last autumn, in November Thunder announced a 2020 tour – their first full-on electric headline rock shows in the UK since 2017.
Ugly Kid Joe are already confirmed as special guests, and now Thunder have revealed the five bands they’ve personally cherrypicked to open proceedings on the major trek.
Those Damn Crows
Bridgend’s prodigal sons Those Damn Crows will get things off to an emphatic start at Cardiff Motorpoint Arena on Thursday 19th November, before Cannock rockers Piston open proceedings at Birmingham Resorts World Arena on Friday 20th November.
Blues rock powerhouses Kris Barras Band play London The SSE Arena, Wembley on Saturday 21st November, local lads Mason Hill will rock Glasgow SEC Armadillo on Friday 27th November and the mighty Massive Wagons play the closing date at Leeds First Direct Arena on Saturday 28th November.
VIP packages sold out within hours back in November last year, but standard tickets to all five dates are on sale from Planet Rock Tickets now.
Planet Rock’s very own Danny Bowes says of the support acts: “When we started out back in 1678, we managed to get on a couple of big supports, and we got a lot out of the opportunities. We’ve never forgotten it, so when we announced the shows last November, we made it known that we wanted to have a different opening band for every show.
“I’ll be honest, we had no idea that so many really good ones would be put forward, so it was pretty hard to choose. We’re very chuffed with our choices, and confident they’ll all make the most of the slot, impress the Thunder Massive, and give both us and Ugly Kid Joe a run for our money. Over to you lot!”
Danny added: “After ‘Please Remain Seated’ and ‘The Greatest Hits’ releases this year, work on the next studio album is already under way. We’ll get it out before these 5 shows.
“I’m chuffed to report that it’s all new tunes, and it’s all ROCK. The setlist will be a mix of the new album and fan favourites, so it’s going to be a bit of a job working out which tunes we’ll play. I think I’ll leave it to Luke to sort that one out!”.
